Starry eyed SparkleStarry eyed Sparkle By Pamela Conoly Sometimes our eyes can use a little help when it comes to that Holiday sparkle. How to sparkle without overdoing? There are a lot of glitter gels on the market. Some of them are quite dark and then some yield very little sparkle. For use around the eyes you would really want the lesser of the two. Also,be sure that it is hypoallergetic. Some of them won’t tell you. Test a little on the back of your neck or your hand. There are glitter sticks that use a stiff little sponge. These are great because you don’t want too much sparkle in the eye area and these give just the right amount. They are very easy to apply, but you’ll have to experiment for your own preference. Never apply anything glittery too close to your eye. You haven’t had pain until you get this stuff in your eye so be careful. Below your eye is never a good place to apply this unless your applying it to your cheekbone. The corners of your eyes is not a good place either. If you apply it to your eyelid it’s risky because,if you have allergetic eyes, this will flare them up in a minute and you’ll run the risk of infection. Just above the eyebrow line and just under it following the shape of your eyebrows is an appropriate location. You only need to do one application. If you can’t see it turn your head somewhat to the side until the light hits it. That’s really all you need. You would be surprised at the compliments you’ll get! If you put too much it really is worse for your eye and skin health because the gel in the product that houses the glitter dries in minutes after it is applied to make the glitter adhere to the skin and it is also harder to get off, thus irritating the skin more. After applying try not to rub. This might make the glitter go in more places than you want because it will be on whatever you rub it with. Remember when you test it on an area let it stay there for at least thirty minutes. Sometimes it takes about that long to start itching if it’s going to. Of course,if it does itch you want to wash it off right away and find one that doesn’t or scrap the whole idea. If you try to go ahead and wear it anyway(can’t imagine anyone wanting to) believe me it won’t be fun you’ll end up with a nasty rash or worse!
