Hormones and Zits. What does one have to do with the other? By Pamela Conoly

Do hormones and zits have anything to do with each other? You betcha! Hormones are like semi-conductors in an electronic grid. A sort of a blue print of your system. When we think our hormones are out of wack, you know, hot flashes, irritability, headaches, etc. Not to mention zits! Actually,if our hormones are working properly, zits are your body’s way of throwing off impurities just like sweating but in a different way. You may wake up one morning with an unusually oily face. This can also be triggered by the time of the month, stress, adverse conditions, and what I like to call happy nervousness like getting married, for instance,or buying a new car, or a first date. No matter how well you watch your diet or takes care of your skin sometimes hormones can be triggered into doing things that will cramp your style. No pun intended! So what are you supposed to do about these so called “hormone attackes”? Well, there is really nothing you can do about them except relax, make a nice cup of herbal tea, grab your favorite book, and draw a nice herbal bath to soak in. Hormones are not just a phase they will always be with us. We would be in trouble without them. Hair would not grow and we would all look like aliens from Mars,or where ever. Now,I am not unsympathetic to people that have a hard time with this. Some women get rashes every month or grow hair in unwanted places. If you experience things like this or worse that are very bothersome and becomes hard to cope you should talk to your Doctor and not be embarrassed about it.Doctors do not write everything off as the change of life, which is why some women are afraid to talk about it. The truth is,Doctors can help a lot when it comes to hormone therapy, or just dealing with the symptoms you are going through. A lot of people don’t realize that these problems can severely debilitate your countenance (the way you feel about your self or your over all mental health). Don’t let fearing that you will be laughed at stop you from simply getting help for it. You will feel and look better and no one will laugh. 

****This has nothing to do with mental health as a condition.
