HILO HOOLAULEA Date: September 3 Time: 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Place: Front Street, Hilo Town Enjoy an evening of exciting entertainment by the best of island musicians, ono foods and arts and crafts HOLUALOA ALOHA FESTIVALS PARADE Date: September 9 Place: Holualoa Town A parade along Mamalahoa Hwy to Kailua town. The parade is an official event of the Aloha Festivals. Following the parade is a hoolaulea SAM CHOY POKE CONTEST WEEKEND Date: September 15 to September 17 Place: Westin Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel A fun-filled weekend complete with golf tournament, concert featuring Kealii Reichel, and the tasty poke competition emceed by Chef Sam Choy. Hundreds of poke fans gather to test their recipe or taste new ideas for preparing this hors d'ouevres sensation. 7TH ANNUAL GREAT WAIKOLOA HOOLAULEA Date: September 22 Time: Noon to 10:00 p.m. Place: King's Shops Great Hawaiian entertainment, crafts and food. The all day affair ends with a fabulous fireworks display. ALOHA FESTIVALS PARADE IN WAIMEA Date: September 23 Place: Waimea This Aloha Festivals celebration includes a parade through Waimea town and a hoolaulea at Waimea Park. Pau riders, floats, marching units participate to honor the Big Island's oldest ranching community. The annual Paniolo Hat Lei Contest will be held at Cook's Corner. ALOHA WEEK CONCERT Date: October 21 Place: Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Kahului Legendary musician Kahauanu Lake and Maui hula halau Wehiwehi o Leilehua concert.
