Hundreds of poke fans gather to test their recipe or taste new ideas for preparing this hors d'ouevres sensation.

7TH ANNUAL GREAT WAIKOLOA HOOLAULEA Date: September 22 Time: Noon to 10:00 p.m. Place: King's Shops Great Hawaiian entertainment, crafts and food. The all day affair ends with a fabulous fireworks display.

ALOHA FESTIVALS PARADE IN WAIMEA Date: September 23 Place: Waimea This Aloha Festivals celebration includes a parade through Waimea town and a hoolaulea at Waimea Park. Pau riders, floats, marching units participate to honor the Big Island's oldest ranching community. The annual Paniolo Hat Lei Contest will be held at Cook's Corner.
