This mammoth of a hotel is in the middle of everything! It' so on the beach in Waikiki it's practically in the water. It's so close to shopping, theaters and nightlife, it doesn't require a car. Located at the makai end of Royal Hawaiian Avenue at Kalakaua Avenue adjacent to the Royal Hawaiian hotel, the Sheraton Waikiki is one of the best known and well located hotels in Waikiki. Adjacent to this huge hotel is the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. This shopping center has many restaurants, shops and daily performances for all to enjoy. It's four floors of designer to bargain shopping. On the beach, there are many activities available. From simple relaxation to canoe and catamaran rides to surfing lessons, para-sailing and catamaran rentals. This hotel is a mass of services and activities as well. Fitness activities are planned for every guest's enjoyment. There is a fitness center on site available for guests only. Aerobic classes are scheduled Monday through Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. and Tai Chi classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. Both are free for Sheraton guests. If you have something more entertaining than energetic in mind, then you will find the cooking demonstrations by the Sheraton's Restaurant Ciao fun. Held every Thursday at 5:30pm in front of the restaurant. For nature lovers and children, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, Honu, can be seen at approximately 2:30pm daily on the Diamond Head side of the Sheraton Waikiki at the rocky jetty. These turtles have become so fond of the waters off the Sheraton Waikiki, they can be seen daily frolicking in the midday sun. The hotel has even adopted the Honu as its mascot. The Honu is listed on the endangered species list in Hawaii and we ask you to respect their habitat, but also enjoy your sightseeing of these gentle creatures. The Sheraton is a hub for many regularly scheduled large gatherings and events. These are held in the massive ballrooms on the hotel's second floor. However, for the dining and entertainment pleasure of most casual guests, the hotel has two cocktail lounges and four restaurants. The most spectacular is the Hanohano room at the very top of the hotel. Ride the glass elevator to the top and surround yourself with the most spectacular view of Diamond Head and the famous beach below.
