One of the features that make Hawaii so spectacular are its wonderful, breathtaking vistas. Landscapes range from lush tropical rainforest to dry arid lava deserts to snow topped mountains. Hawaii is a feast for the eyes. Full of greens, blues, and wonders that make for wonderful memories.

One of the best ways to enjoy the natural wonders of Hawaii to the fullest is with a helicopter ride. Every island offers them and every island has something special to offer. Oahu has wonderful views of the Koolau Mountains, Diamond Head, and especially the city views of Honolulu and Waikiki. A ride on Maui will offer you great views of Haleakala Crater, the Hana Highway and vistas of the smaller islands that include Molokai and Lanai. A helicopter trip of the Big Island of Hawaii will include an Ariel view of the volcano, Waimea Valley and the Kohala Coast. However, largely the very best of helicopter trips are found on Kauai. Kauai is the oldest and greenest of the major islands, and offers views that will stay in your heart forever. The sweeping views of Waimea Canyon are truly spectacular, along with the waterfalls of Waialeale and Hanalei Valley. Nevertheless, the best of all is the Na Pali Coastline.

Helicopter trips are are over $100 per person, but well worth it. Select a trip that is at least 45 minutes in length and book something that departs in the mid to early morning. Be aware that helicopter companies may cancel trips due to weather, so it is best to book for an early departure so you can make or pursue alternate plans early in the day in case of a cancellation. Select the shortest trip that includes the Na Pali Coast. There is no need to take the longer tours, it is overkill and the extra money is best spent on other Kauai activities. And, finally, don't forget to bring your camera. Even if you are not the picture-taking type, buy a disposable and snap away. This experience will last a lifetime!

Until next week, a hui hou!
