Pictures of Ghosts on the Web

When I first came across a web site which featured ghost stories, I was ecstatic. Who doesn't love to be scared? To feel as though you are watched, and know, deep inside, that it is just your imagination working at its full potential. I don't remember what key words I used to find the site, or if it was just a chance link from someones personal webpage, but soon I was hooked. I searched for sites on every search engine I could find, using all varieties of key words to find what I wanted. I was a hunter and the web was my forest. Some times the prey would lead me in circles and I would find myself visiting the same web sites over and over again. They would cleverly disguise themselves, using redirection or a page I hadn't read yet, but they were no match for the intellect of this investigator.

Soon the idea came to me that I should write down these wily addresses and make my own ghostly links page. I even went so far as to make my own little survey on my site in the hopes that I could hear more stories from people. The thing that surprised me most, that made my eyes pop out of my head, and the cold tingle running down my spine, was the pictures that these people had on their sites. "Pictures?" I exclaimed. I didn't know it was possible, but there they were in front of me. All different sorts of pictures that I had no idea existed. Most pictures you find on the web fall into five categories:

1) Vortexes - these are pictures (You may have some of your own) in which a strange white or black conical line is seen zooming across the subject. Sometimes, they even leave shadows, yet when the photos were taken, there was nothing to be seen. (This happens with all pictures I have found on the net.)

2) Anomolies - These are usually white mists that resemble smoke, although most people swear there was no smoke visible at the time the picture/s were snapped. Sometimes, people imagine they see a face or a humanly shape in the smoke.

3) Apparitions - These are pictures in which you see a face or a shape (human or animal) which was not there at the time they are taken. Most of these photos are branded as fakes from the get-go, as sometimes it is painfully obvious that it isn't even close to being real. I have seen a few, however, that I am hard-pressed to not believe.
