Freehold, NJ --- Driver Jeff Gregory set an all-time personal best in winning six races at Freehold Raceway on Thursday.

The 35-year-old native of Churchville, NY scored with six of his seven drives, winning with Jeanette Hanover ($8.80), Master Touch ($4.80), Fighting Fish ($6.40), Eicarls Nightmare ($11.60), Boysrus ($4.80) and Katy Mickey ($14.00).

Gregory, who has been a professional harness driver for 17 years, said of the feat, "I've won five races on one card a few times, at Pompano, Vernon, Buffalo, Yonkers, Colonial and Freehold. But this is the first time I've ever won six." Gregory added, "It feels great. I had some live mounts today and I was able to get them in the right spot. You have to get some luck, too."

Gregory is currently fourth in the Freehold driver standings.

Hard On The Pocket steps up in Saturday feature

Off the strength of two impressive wins against $10,000 conditioned company, Roy Parker's Hard On The Pocket has been installed as the 3-1 morning line choice in Saturday's featured $18,000 Invitational handicap for pacers at Freehold Raceway.

Hard On The Pocket has been nothing short of spectacular since coming to Freehold via Dover Downs. The seven-year-old In The Pocket gelding scored a 1:53 win on November 24 and followed up that superb effort with a 1:533 tally on December 1. A similar performance on Saturday could be good enough to enable him to win on the raise. Although his $42,287 this season ranks last in the eight horse field, his 1:50 victory at the Meadowlands earlier this year makes him the fastest.

Hard On The Pocket has been assigned post four for Saturday's main event. He will be guided by his trainer/driver, Carl Cito, Jr.

One that commands plenty of respect is Justanotherpoorboy. The five-year-old Life Sign stallion returns to Freehold fresh off a three-quarter length pacesetting victory from post seven in last Saturday's $15,000 Open handicap at Yonkers. Prior to that, Justanotherpoorboy had been narrowly beaten by Ole Black Magic N in that rival's 1:542 win at Freehold in the November 24 edition of the Invitational.

Ross Wolfenden has been given the driving assignment on Justanotherpoorboy. The duo will leave from post eight and open on the board as the 7-2 second choice in the early line.

Egloff, Crawfish, Funny Like A Clown, Aces N' Sevens, CPW and Sweet Basil round out the field.

First post for Saturday's 13 race card at Freehold is set for 12:30 p.m.
