"I was just concerned about getting her off the gate," said Mike Lachance, who guided 1-5 favorite Cameron Hall to her sixth win in seven starts. "I guess she's learning, and she was just a perfect lady tonight. It's tough to evaluate a two-year-old filly. But she's sure doing everything right. She's got a beautiful gait and is beautifully mannered."
"It would have been nice not to have anyone on our back but whenever you race for this much money, people are not going to lay down and let you have it," said trainer Robert Stewart. "It helps that some of the horses (Lady Bar and Sofia Letsgo) on the inside broke stride. She was able to get a soft first quarter (:29 seconds), which made it a little easier. She should have secured seasonal honors tonight so it's a good way to end the season."
To dissolve the partnership of Walnut Hall Ltd. and Erkki Laakonen, Cameron Hall will go through a sale next week.
"It depends on who buys her (as to whether I will train her next year)," Stewart added.
Cameron Hall concludes her season with $639,426 in earnings.
