In this issue I will discuss driver Ronnie Pierce and look back on his accomplishments.
"Rockin" Ronnie Pierce is the quiet man of this sport.
When he first started driving he could not get the respect at the Meadowlands so he took his driving skills on the road. He drove in California and briefly in Asia. This experience helped him gain the respect at the Meadowlands.
He is one of the top drivers in the country but gets minimal recognition. He does not come from a major racing family as most drivers do in this sport. He does not have a loyal relationship with a major trainer or owner to give him consistent drives. He is primarily a second choice driver.
He has capitalized on being a second choice driver by winning some of the biggest races in the country as an underdog.
He won the Little Brown Jug with Shady Character as the second choice driver.
He won the Hambletonian with American Winner as the second choice driver.
He won the Governor's Cup with Sealed N Delivered as the second choice driver.
He won the Breeders Crown with Badlands as the second choice driver.
He won the Meadowlands Pace with Dream Away as the second choice driver.
In conclusion Ronnie Pierce is more than just a driver in this sport. He sets by example that an underdog can accomplish his or her goals in life by will and determination.
