Mahogany (Episode 7)

"This is Jewels...yes mother...they did, oh that is so wonderful...tell them I love as well. Mother I love you...and...and thank you for all that you done for me...I have decided to do what I must. Thank you for your support. Until then." I placed the phone to the receiver as I saw my purse on the nearby table.

It was holding something that I put off for many years but I was determine to deal with it today. I went to get my purse as Nate came walking in with some of the band members. I looked over to the table where Calita played with her sitter. She looked up at me as if on cue and smiled. It was all the strenght I needed to do what knew in my heart was the right thing.

"Jewels, they love us, this is only the beginning." Nate said and hugged me. We started to walk towards the dressing room. I stopped in my tracks and looked straight into his eyes. Nate fluttered and his cream color shirt with fitted black suit seemed to not make him so imtidating but a match for me to succeed in my now chosen path.

"No Nate, this is a a new beginning for you. It is an end for me and my daughter. I'm leaving Paris and going back home. Calita are you ready, baby, lets go." I said out reaching my hand she quickly grab the suitcase hidden by the nearby wall and came running to me.

"Jousha will never take you back after you lied to him about Calita being my child. You will end up coming back --"

"It is time for the truth to be told, that is all that I want. If accepts us back in his life or not it is lawd decision to make that call. I have no more worries, it is up to the lawd. I m at piece, Nate. And I am stronger." I said before reaching into my purse and handed the divorce papers to Nate.

Nate angrily unraveled the divorce papers and scanned the contents of the legal document as went to put my coat.

"Keep the money tonight, I have a life with my family in Harlem. Take care of yourself. And thank you for being a father to my daughter." I said as Calita held tight to my hand. The room became silent but the hollering
