Various Artists :: "Victory in Christ"

The tenth track comes from a band called XdiscipleX A.D., the song “So Send I You.” Though not a necessarily original track, I still can’t help but enjoy it, as will fans of early Embodyment, Living Sacrifice, or Focal Point.

The twelfth track is more good metal that is very reminiscent of Zao from their Birth of Separation album. The band is Bereaved and the song “White Writhing.” Good track, good song, good band.

Fourteenth is the band Redeem with a great song called “The Growth of Separation.” Fans of Focused or Zao will enjoy, and it’s deserving of as much.

Then comes At Peace While Burning with the song “The Courage to Begin Anew,” which is a band with some great music, but with vocals that could use some fine-tuning. Nonetheless, they have serious potential if they work on their sound a bit.

Regardless of the less than superior songs put in the mix, the CD includes seven solid bands and more others may find worthy of a $15 purchase from the record label. Granted, some of you won’t care for the bands I picked out as my favorites. And still some of you won’t care for any of the music. So is the art of music: completely subjective.
