Letter Groupings in Handwriting Analysis (Part I)Apart from a specific meaning for each letter (yes, there are certain determined meanings for just about each letter in the alphabet), there are strokes that apply to many letters (or all letters). That's what we're going to take a look at today. Let's say for instance you have a sample of writing that has a lot of printed letters mixed in with the cursive (written) ones. What are you looking at? You've got a person who is cultured, with taste and is known to think in an uncluttered manner. Perhaps you may have also seen a writing/printing mixture that looks square. You can not miss this kind of sample because many of the letters look like buildings - for instance a roof. Well, interestingly enough, that's precisely what square writing means - an interest in mechanics, building and architecture. Neat eh how the letters reflect a persons interests? How about a sample of hand writing that is showy, has lots of flair. I don't mean really, really fussy, showy but a sample with unusually flowery beginnings and endings (with a few twirls thrown inbetween for good measure). If it's not too showy, you have a person that is artistic, sociable and who likes attention and wants to be in the limelight. If it is way out of line and really very fussy and ornate, you tend to have a vulgar, egotistical individual. One who is more show than go. In other words not a doer. This next example I haven't seen all that often, but it does exist. It's called scrolled writing. It means that beginnings, some middles (like o's) and endings look a bit like the rolled lid off a tin of sardines - hence scrolled. It very simply indicates greed and egotism. Basically the person is wrapped up tight within themselves. What about very straight forward simple writing? No fuss, no muss, just plain jane lettering? Then you have an intelligent, quick thinker who is very logical. This next one is rather fun, because you may have actually seen it in Liberace's handwriting, or in the sample of other great musicians - musical notes. It shows musical ability or musical appreciation - meaning that just because the writing shows the notes doesn't always mean the person plays music. What if you see a sample with numbers in it? For instance the letter I being made in such a manner as to look like the number 7. Or the small "g" on a word looking like a letter 8? This shows an interest or talent in mathematics and means the person is logical. It also means the person has writing ability and is a fluid thinker.
