Connecting Strokes in Handwriting Analysis

Connecting strokes in handwriting analysis are rather interesting creatures. Some even taking on a life of their very own. For instance, you've probably seen samples of hand writing that appear to be groups of words all disconnected. Meaning that the words aren't disconnected, but the letters WITHIN the words are all seemingly disjointed and spaced out. This is called disconnected lettering and it normally indicates intuition and perception IF it occurs occasionally. If you see this frequently in the sample, as in almost all of the sample shows this disconnection, then you're seeing a lack of concentration, a person with scattered thoughts. Look carefully before making this kind of judgement though.

Now the total opposite of disconnection is connected strokes. If you're already one step ahead of me here and are thinking that must mean a logical and organized mind, then you're right on the ball. It also indicates a love of order, perserverance and a person who takes the time to think things through before acting. This kind of person is usually fairly well balanced emotionally and rather predictable in the sense you will always know where you stand with this individual.

Moving along here we next take a look at connected strokes, but they're very clumsy or shall we even say messy and awkward. When you see this kind of sample it is also usually not very gracious - meaning it has no rhythm. This indicates a materialistic person who has no personal initiative. You can also surmise they are all over the map when it comes to relationships too since they don't seem to show any particular signs of structure and order.

Ok, not everyone is a messy writer, right? You will see samples showing very even, neat strokes. Almost pretty. What does it mean? If you had to guess I'm certain you'd be saying by now, organized, orderly and logical. And, you'd be right again. See? You're getting the hang of this stuff aren't you?

Next, uneven strokes, not awkward, but uneven, variable. Interesting that I used the word variable, because that is precisely one of the things this kind of writing stroke indicates. It also shows a person with an emotional nature, up and down and not always stable or reliable and can also indicate a tendency towards being illogical.

Bet you've seen some writing that looked like it was speeding across the page right? Long, wide, moving words and letters. They have a life of their own. This person tends to be goal oriented, impatient, aggressive and perhaps brash, but nonetheless, generous. So, not all bad or all good for that matter. Always take into account other mitigating factors in each sample you look at. Balancing strokes I guess you could call them. By this I mean if you see talkativeness, watch for temper, impatience, impulsiveness - you could have a nasty gossip. However, if you also see caution in the same sample you may come to a different conclusion about your writer.
