It seems everytime you visit the salon, there are new products out on the shelves. I take the newest products, put them to the test, and review them right here. Sure beats standing at the shelves reading the backs of the bottles, doesn't it?

ISO MULTIPLICITY GLOSSER- Innovative Styling Options recently launched their Multiplicity line of haircare products. Of all the products in the collection, Glosser is my favorite. Glosser is a shine serum designed to add a high-gloss finish to a variety of styles. This product is also great for taming frizz, even on humid days. Perhaps the coolest part is the bottle itself. Glosser comes in a bottle in two colors: blue on the top, pink on the bottom. Shake the bottle and the formula turns purple.....call me easily amused, but that feature alone is enough to make me run out and buy a bottle.

JOICO HI-RISE HAIR- Volume and texture never go out of style, and for this reason every manufacturer has recently added a volume booster to its repertoire. These products work like a mousse, but spray on in an aerosol form. Hi-Rise Hair is just another addition to the spray-foam trend. I may be a purist, but I still like good old-fashioned mousse for adding volume.

HAIR GUM by FUDGE- From the Land Down Under comes this line of trendy products. Hair Gum combines the properties of a gel and a mousse, and can be used on wet or dry hair. It provides a firm hold, so make sure not to use too much of it.

COLOR EXTEND TOTAL RECHARGE by REDKEN- Total Recharge is not a Schwartzenegger action flick, but a leave-in treatment or color-treated hair. This product is designed to prevent fading, reinforce the hair's cuticle, and add shine.

SOLIDIFI by EUFORA- This is one firm gel. Put some of this on your hair and go stand in a hurricane....your hair will not be moved. Solidifi was created for people who want a stiff hold gel made with natural ingredients, and probably for construction workers who wanted head protection without having to wear hardhats. Yes, this is a very firm gel.

LIQUID ICE by JOICO- Joico's ICE line of products have been a favorite of mine for years. Liquid Ice is the newest addition, it's an alcohol-free spray gel that contains kelp, vitamins, and caffeine (which removes build-up on the hair).

THREADS by SEBASTIAN- Threads is a micro-fiber styling product that is between a gel and a pomade. It provides texture and separation like a pomade or wax, with the holding properties of a gel.
