Trying to Understand
The situation in the Middle East is such that we cannot just ignore it. I live in Israel with my family. The predicament is such that we need to search for some understanding. I am sure there are those who try to understand the conditions from a political point of view. Others I am sure try to explain it from a sociological point of view.
But what about how a religious Jew views it?
But what about how a religious Jew views it? Here we discuss Thoughts to inspired by. I always try to present the truth as a way to find inspiration among other important ideas. In such hard times lets delve into the truth about what is going on here in the Middle East.
This is some of my personal thoughts as a religious Jew living in Israel now. I find it helps to be honest and it is comforting at least to see world events in their proper perspective.
Who is in Charge?
The first point is that we know that G-d is the King of the world and is in charge. Every bullet and every piece of steel has its address. Yes, there is free will and all those accursed suicide bombers and terrorists are receiving horrible punishments in the next world. Still, any tragedy that happens is because G-d lets it. Why any given person is a victim we cannot know though. How can we expect to understand the G-d's judgment? But those who, with their free will, carried out these
horrendous, cowardly acts, bear total responsibility and will be judged accordingly! Those who were not successful were because G-d did not allow it to happen. We put our trust in G-d and not in any army. We turn our eyes and our prayers to G-d and not to a man of flesh and bones to save us.
A Message from the Passover Haggadah
We are approaching the holiday of Passover. On the first night of Passover we read what is called the Haggadah. We pass from generation to generation on the night of Passover the true story of how G-d took His nation out of Egypt which terribly oppressed our nation. G-d sent ten plagues to afflict the Egyptians until they finally agreed to set us free. This is recorded in the Book of Exodus. The sages wrote the Haggadah in a format to be read by each family on the night of Passover.
