Why are we Praying for Life- What is Life? I
Elul- Month of Preparation.
We are now in the Jewish month of Elul. This is the month of preparation for the Holy days of Rosh Hashanah (The first two days of the month Tishrie) and Yom Kippur (the Tenth day of Tishrie), which is next month.
The special significance of these days is that they are a time when we are to prepare for the upcoming "Days of Awe”. During this period in the month preceding Rosh Hashanah
Until after Yom Kippur are days when G-D is closer to us and is
They’re to help us in our prayers and repentance.
The Hebrew name Elul is also an acronym for the Hebrew words "I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me" (in Hebrew this is only four words) which is a verse found in Songs of Songs 6:3.

Will we have children or not? Will we be successful in our business or not? These are all decided on Rosh Hashanah. It is because of this that Rosh Hashanah is taken with the utmost seriousness and preparation is the topic on everyone's minds during Elul.
Why is Rosh Hashanah the Day of Judgment?.

If so, Rosh Hashanah was the day when G-D, so to say, became the King over His creations. It was on that day that G-D created man, who was
