How to Understand what is Happening and Foundations of Existence

How should we react?. What should be our reaction to such terrible events, which the whole world has witnessed as occurred in Jerusalem this past Thursday August 9th. As I am writing this there was another incedent in the North now, G_D should save us. What are we to think when we see a wicked and cursed human dressing upon himself a bomb to blow up innocent men women and children? Has the world ever seen such wickedness? After these terrible acts there are supposedly human beings whom glorify this act as “heroic” and calling him a “Martyr”? What is becoming of humanity if that is the case?

For us whom live now 56 years after World War II and have seen and heard and read about the Nazi (may their names be eradicated) atrocities maybe we can relate to this. We have seen supposed “educated humans” commit some of the worse unimaginable crimes in human history. How are we to relate to this? What are we to look forward to? What advice or hope is there for the world?

Why do we need free will?. The truth is that in Judaism we can find the answers. G_D created the world with the intention that man should follow the laws and teachings of G_D and earn his or hers reward. In order that we can earn our reward we must have free will. Without the drive and ability to not fulfill the will of G_D there would be no purpose in the reward.

Why isn't G_D openly revealed in the world? . Likewise if G_D were revealed in this world in a way that was clear to all that itself would impede upon our free will. If the King were standing right over someone they would of course follow His will. Because of this G_D had to create a possibility that despite His Omnipresence everywhere that still the world can have a false facade as if G_D is not there. The Hebrew word for world is “olam”. The root of this word mean hidden. Based on what we said above the idea is understood. The world is hiding G_D”s real and constant presence in order that we have free will.

he force of evil is needed. This though is not enough. If we would only have free will alone we still would only follow G_D’s will since there would be no other alternative way in life. In order that man can be put to the true test to go in G_D’s ways or not, G_D chose to create the ability to do the opposite of what G_D wants. This is what we call “evil”.
