I have found that many Christians are disillusioned with Christianity and many are realizing that it isn't the correct path in life. The scandals with the priests in the US are also a big awakening to many about the life style the Churches preached all these years.
But yet many are seeking spirituality in their lives. It is because of this we see that there are over 1000 cults worldwide preying on this basic human need and desire to be close to G_D. Today November 18 2004 is the 25-year anniversary of Jonestown. This was a group of over 900 men women and children seeking spirituality and putting their faith in some self-proclaimed guru. He commanded them to commit suicide and most complied and those whom did not were shot. This is the worst massive suicide in modern history.
There are many lessons here most, if not all, have not been learned. Thousands and Tens of Thousands and Hundreds of thousands of well meaning people are looking for spirituality and do not have any idea where to look or how to begin. This has given a much taken advantage point for charlatans to abuse and mislead the masses. In truth this is how Christianity started out but gained more credibility in the eyes of the masses than other cults.
Are those whom are not part of cults any better? Today I saw in the news and I quote from CNN-"Massachusetts' highest court ruled Tuesday that the state cannot deny gays and lesbians the right to marry, a ruling that could make the state the first to recognize gay marriage". This is the sign of total decadence the lowest the human race can reach.
The Talmudic sages tell us that G_Ds decision to destroy the world with the flood in the days of Noah was decided when they reached a situation that one male gave a marriage contract to another. This is the lowest level the human race can reach a point which makes deserving destruction. The world is lacking a guidline for morality and the basics on how to live.
