How times are changing! Do you remember the days of going to the grocery store and buying food for your family and your pets? We all are aware of the movement in this country towards a healthier life style. What some people may not realize is this "get healthy craze" also includes our pets. The pet food companies advertising all-natural and healthy meals for our four-legged friends are numerous! I decided to search the World Wide web for information. You'll not believe all I found!
Let's see . . . where to start? I'll begin this odyssey with a company many of us are familiar with Iams. They make dog and cat food. You can purchase Iams at any pet speciality store. My cats will eat nothing but Iams for their canned food. I wasn't going to check this site out, as I already knew how good this pet food was. How glad I am that I decided to look. This is an excellent site! Of course, they have one section discussing ingredients of their food. They also have a FAQ section. Then there is the Veterinarian Corner where questions are answered. The section that I found most interesting was called Food for Thought. It is full of all kinds of information about pets, pet food, pet ailments, etc. It has a glossary, which makes it very easy to find anything you are looking for. So I enjoyed my visit with the Iams people. Next I traveled on over to a site called Holistic Health for Animals. This site has tips on how to use the holistic approach in caring for your pets. They recommend feeding Flint River pet food. You can even get a free sample for the asking! Their food is a formula of Chicken Meal, Lamb and Rice. The food is oven baked and prepared three times weekly so it is always fresh. Also they state that there are no chemical preservatives or additives in this food. Because it is a very nutritional food, the pet owner can actually save money because less Flint River food is fed to the animal. You can order it on the Internet, and it is delivered right to your door. Pretty convenient I'd say! One of the most unique sites I found is called a Doggie Drive Thru, operated by "Maggie" in South Bend, Ind. There was a picture of the store, and it really is a drive-thru! Maggie's biscuit treats are hand-made pet treats. Maggie says they're made "using only approved ingredients for kids to eat, but remember these are Doggie Treats-Kitties Too." There are two flavors: cheddar cheese and whole wheat. Maggie makes these treats in food shapes such as pizzas, pretzels, burgers and fries. Maggie's treats are sold at her drive-thru and the World Wide Web. If anyone is interested in owning or operating a Doggie Drive-Thru there is a questionnaire to fill out. Go To Page: 1 2
