This week's article is another of Sam & Shawnie's stories---and what a funny one it is!!
Enjoy!!
"Wife was feeding a 14 puppy litter that had just been put in the long run. The pups were just 4 months old. It was pouring down rain , and it was a muddy mess. Wife was proceeding to scoop the poop in the run, she had the poop rake in one hand and the scoop pan in the other hand. She had gone about halfway down the run in the pouring rain. Here came the whole litter (14), bouncing and grabbing to play. One pup untied her shoelace (unknown to wife). Wife continued down the run, stepped on the untied shoelace, and fell with a splash in the mud. The litter pounced on her to have some fun! One pup grabbed the gloves from her pocket and took off. Two other pups joined in pulling and tearing the gloves to shreds. Another pup grabbed several paper towels from wife's pocket (used for wiping off eyeglasses). This pup and another pup proceeded to tear the paper towels into at least a thousand pieces. Another pup pounced on wife and scurried off with her toboggan. (The reader can imagine being "attacked" by 14 puppies while rolling in the mud!) A pup turned over the scoop pan under wife's face. Another pup took off with her glasses. Three more puppies pounced on wife's head and started pulling her hair. Two more puppies started pulling tug-of-war with her raincoat. Wife struggled but couldn't get to her feet. The last pup had a tight grip on the untied shoelace and as wife was about to regain her footing, the pup gave a jerk and sent her sprawling in the poop contaminated mud. About ten of the puppies then climbed on her. Wife started crawling to the fence to pull herself up. It was a valiant effort, but puppies won. Finally, after ripping wife's rainsuit to ribbons, the puppies started leaving to play tug-of-war with her gloves, toboggan, glasses, and pieces of rainsuit. Wife finally returned to the farm kennel building dripping with rain, mud, and poop. Husband started to laugh but thought better. Wife cleaned and regained her composure. Wife and husband later returned to the dog run with milk bones to distract pups while wife cleaned up the mess. Oh, happy times!!!" Go To Page: 1
