As you may, or may not, know Suite101 has been undergoing some changes lately. One of the biggest is not paying the writers, well editors as Suite101 calls them. Many people are taking this opportunity to leave. I had to ask myself the same question; do I still want to do this without compensation? I have decided that for now I will, with a few changes of my own.
I am going to be posting on a monthly format, articles going out near the end of the month. If something comes up that is urgent and of importance, I will post that as well. I want to approach my articles differently and have a focus on more direct action. I have always had some links for more information, but I would like to give everyone the opportunity to participate in issues and causes. Speaking and learning is fine but action is ultimately the most important. This article has two issues that I hope all of you readers will be motivated to respond to and look further into. Also, please let me know how this format compares to my previous articles. Ideally, everyone will participate (in the world) and make their voices heard.

The purpose of bill # HR 1265 is: “To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend the transportation fringe benefit to bicycle commuters. (Introduced in the House)” As always: check out www.congress.org on who to contact and information on current legislation. Action 2: La Resistencia is the organization promoting this and has a petition you can sign onto. Their pledge is as follows: We believe: Go To Page: 1 2
