Welcome to the Green Party

In the United States of America, which is where I reside, the Green Party is growing by leaps and bounds. The most recent election was a very close race between the two major parties and thus threw Ralph Nader, the Greens candidate for president, in a brighter spotlight then might have been expected, even though Nader was kept out of the national debates. The results of the elections have the Green Party placing as the top third party.

What we need to do next is to focus on restoring our democracy. By this I mean, we need to change some of the laws to be more effective. Several propositions the Greens have been discussing are Proportional Representation and "None of the Above" option on the ballot. With the "None of the Above" we would also like to see IRV, Instant Run-off Voting. And perhaps in the near future the will of the people will be the deciding vote instead of the outdated Electoral College. This recent election has certainly raised that issue.
