CAMPAIGN: CLICK CAMPAIGNING

In this article I am going to show you two ways you can take a more active part in online campaigning. The first is called Click Campaigning and the second Online Activism. If you have already been involved in the GREEN HOME CAMPAIGN CLUB then you are already somewhat familiar with the second type of campaigning.

Click Campaigning

This usually means that you use your mouse to click buttons on campaign sites and generate donations for worthy causes.

There are two really good sites where you can do this: Care2 and The Ecology Fund. At Care2, your clicks can save the rainforest, save big cats, preserve pandas or help fight breast cancer. You can click on any of the links below, even if you are not a member of Care2. However, if you join up, you not only get to see how much your clicks are contributing, you can also send animated e-cards which, in turn, produce more revenue for worthy environmental and wildlife charities.

Here are your links:

  1. Save the Rainforest
  2. Save Big Cats
  3. Save Pandas
  4. Help Fight Breast Cancer"

The Ecology Fund has a page full of links for you to click, right here. Each click helps to protect a valuable environmental habitat.

If you want to make the maximum impact possible, visit these click sites each day and watch the donations mount up.

Online Activism

If you are a current member of the GREEN HOME CAMPAIGN CLUB and you have sent of any letters from the Campaign articles listed, you have already made a good start. If not, why not check out the Campaign Articles link and see what you can do here.

There are other sites where you can also send letters to decision makers and these are listed below. Don't worry if you have already sent a letter on a particular topic. It is quite appropriate for you to send a letter for every campaign group that you are in. The more letters, the more decision makers are pressured into conforming to acceptable environmental standards.

The sites I am going to recommend are The World Wildlife Fund's and Care2, again. The links for these sites are listed below:

  1. The World Wildlife Fund's Conservation Action Network
  2. Care2's Eco-Action Center
To join the Conservation Action Network, click on the above link, click on the red 'Take Action' box and you will be taken to a page where you can sign up. Once registered, you will be offered your own Personal Action Centre from which you can organise your own campaigns. Bookmark this as well. You can then visit whenever you want to see if they have any more campaigns for you.Visit about once a fortnight and let them know if you run out of campaign items.
