AbiWord for Linux is a cross-platform, fully-featured word processor. The program's features include: basic character formatting (bold, underline, italics, and so on); paragraph alignment; spell checking; and the ability to import RTF and Microsoft Word 97 documents, as well as export to the HTML, LaTeX, RTF, and TXT file formats.

It also includes interactive rulers and tabs; numerous styles; unlimited undo and redo capabilities; multiple column control; find and replace functions; and support for several image types (JPG, PNG, and others).

This latest release includes a new dynamic zooming capability, an improved RTF (Rich Text Format) import function, and many new language translations.

Developed by AbiSource, this is all you'll ever want from wordprocessing. Under the GNU licencem this 4 Mb. download's only requirement is Linux.

Though it is in its early stages of development, AbiWord is a stable, reliable and good piece of programming.
