In 1954, Billy is a Cub Reporter for the school newspaper. He is chosen by the editor to interview Albert Einstein, the world famous scientist. Billy doesn't feel he is capable of interviewing such a famous man, but Editor Jane insists, telling Billy that if he refuses the assignment, he won't be a reporter for the paper much longer. Forced into doing Jane's bidding, Billy knocks on the door of Dr. Einstein. When Dr. Einstein learns that Billy is a reporter, he allows him an interview. The book continues with the story of Dr. Einstein's young life. He tells Billy that his teachers thought he would never amount to much because his grades were so bad and because he was a dreamer. Billy can't believe his ears and listens in wonder as Dr. Einstein tells of his childhood. It seems that everybody was always asking the question, "What's the Matter with Albert?" This is a delightful story about one of the greatest scientists of our time. You will love the comical way that Dr. Einstein looks back on his childhood.
