In the early 1980s, rancher and conservationist Dayton Hyde purchased 11,000 acres of rangeland in South Dakota. He used the land to create, "The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary."

Dayton wanted the wild horses to have a natural habitat in which to live where they wouldn't be hunted or slaughtered. Wild horses was fast disappearing and Dayton was determined to protect the species. Today, 300 horses call the sanctuary home.

This book is filled with awesome photographs that will catch the reader's attention. A must read for all kids who love horses.
