This book is based on the Shrek 2 movie. It stars Shrek, Donkey and Princess Fiona. Puss In Boots and Gingerbread Man are also included.

Take a swamp-loving ogre, a smart-talking Donkey, and a Princess with a secret and you've got Shrek.®

This book is enchanting. Author Steven Cole has taken the characters of Shrek and made a wacky and hilarious book that all children will love. The bright illustrations and the little-known information on the green ogre and his pals will bring wails of laughter from readers of all ages.

The book includes a fun-loving group on their way to the land of Far Far Away. The book is divided into sections of information on each of the characters. You will learn about Shrek, the house he lives in and where his bathroom is located. The sections on Donkey and Princess Fiona are delightful. You will also read about Fairy Tale Squatters, Happy Ever After, Lord Farquaad, Duloc and finally, the Land of Far Far Away.

One section that is particularly interesting is the one about Dragon, who is charged with guarding Princess Fiona within the castle prison. Dragon has a very bad attitude and believes in burning visitors to a crisp and asking questions later. Once Fiona is rescued, Dragon's job is done. What will she do now?

This question and many more are answered in this enchanting tale about the green ogre and his cast of wacky characters. Though the publisher states the book is for kids 8 to 12, all kids 6 and over will enjoy this beautiful hardcover edition.

Book Excerpt:

Shrek once told Donkey that ogres are like onions. No, not because they smell strongly or make you cry, but because they have "layers." If people would only look beyond first appearances and give ogres a chance, they'd see they're not so scary after all.
