Authors note:

Daniel Boone died in 1820 at his son Nathan’s home in Missouri. He was buried next to his wife, Rebecca Bryan Boone, in a cemetery in Warren County, Missouri. In 1845 both of their bodies were removed and reburied at Frankfurt, Kentucky. There remains a controversy concerning whether or not it was Daniel Boone's body that was removed, or someone elses.
