Crab with Pasta and Creamy Herb Sauce

When planning your dinner menu, you can never go wrong with Pasta. It's quick and easy to prepare, inexpensive, and goes well with just about any type of seafood, meat, vegetables, and/or sauces. For a delicious seafood and pasta combination with an Italian flare, try my recipe below.

Crab with Pasta and Creamy Herb Sauce 1 pound lump crabmeat
1 pound vermicelli
1 teaspoon fresh parsley
1 teaspoon fresh basil
1 can Italian plum tomatoes
1 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
fresh grated parmasean cheese, optional

Heat oil in saucepan; add onion and cook until tender; add garlic; chop and drain tomatoes and add to onion mixture; add basil parsley; season with salt and pepper; reduce heat cover and simmer, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes;

Remove mixture from heat and let cool slightly; puree it in food processor; return puree to saucepan, stir in heavy cream, and set over medium heat; simmer mixture, stirring often until slightly reduced; adjust seasoning if needed; stir in crab meat; simmer for 5 minutes;

In large pot, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain; plate on serving dishes and top with sauce and grated cheese, if desired; serve immediately.

Serve with garlic bread.
