I have gone back over the last couple of years of my Golf With a Smile articles and discovered there have been, on the average, 2,000 people reading my articles each month. This should equate to 2,000 golfers. Wouldn't it be a hoot if a few of these 2,000 were Pro Tour golfers who found me while surfing and they just keep coming back? Just to be on the safe side, I will now say "hello" to Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, Michelle Wie and any other Pro Golfers who may be tuning in to my articles. If, in fact, there are pro golfers reading this, please make yourselves known. I will task you to tell me which course is your favorite and which one is your least favorite. There are so many to choose from on the circuit: Bethpage, Augusta, Torrey Pines, Sawgrass, Doral, Pebble Beach, etc. Also it is possible your favorite course may be the one you grew up playing. I think I will always rate the Moose Run Golf Course at Fort Richardson, Alaska as my favorite but I haven't played any PGA Pro Tour courses except for the TPC at Scottsdale.
I would not object to your inviting me during the off season to join you in a round of golf on each of your two courses and explain why these courses rated your best and worst. The key word in the last statement is "inviting" as this implies you will pick up the tab for the golf and the cart (I must use a cart due to my heel spurs and the fact I smoked for 46 years). If the course is on the East Coast I will readily drive (pardon the pun) to the course; Midwest and West Coast and Europe will take a little planning and money saving.
I also task any readers out there who are not professionals to select their best and worst and tell me why, and to invite me (there is that "inviting" word again) to play at their choices. I will devote an article to each trip and give my ratings of the courses along with yours. I will admit to being a 19 handicap player and I am steadily bringing my handicap down now that I am able to play golf more often than I was able to play when I lived in Alaska. My wife also plays as you might have picked up from my articles and if your significant other is also a golfer we could make it a foursome. If you are reading this, Donald Trump, I expect you to foot the airfare and RFB (room, food and beverage) so we can play at the Trump National course in New Jersey. I would also ask you why you have not affiliated yourself with a local course or built your own course in Atlantic City to complement your casinos. Go To Page: 1 2
