When the walls bend under, the toe curves upward, or the goat starts walking with it's weight shifted, it's time for another trim. Do not ignore this important aspect of goat and sheep care, or your animals may end up with hoof rot (infection characterized by odor and lameness) or life-long arthritis. When considering the purchase of a new animal, look at the herd's hooves to see if the person maintains them well.
