Educational Tours,Educational Tours

Educational Tours You’ve probably heard of educational tours; most schools have teachers who run them and many tour companies offer them. The problem with these tours is that they are so costly. One person generally pays almost 2000 dollars for a week-long trip to Europe. Is it worthwhile? Let us take a look.

Educational Tours are offered by various tour companies. It is important that you travel with a well known company. EF tours and Explorica are two good choices. They have been in business for years and are experienced in the way of tours. Other smaller companies do not have the funds or the expertise required to create a stress-free trip.

Educational Tours last anywhere from a week to a month. The tours usually run with a minimum of 6 students per teacher and they try to get a group of 35 people to cut down costs. The group flies together to their destination. Upon arrival, you are checked into respectable hotels which you share with two others. All your breakfasts and dinners are included in the cost. You usually start your tour in a big city, then take a bus out into more remote areas. You may travel overnight on trains that go up to 180 km an hour! If you are in France or England you may be able to go on the Euroexpress.

What are the bad parts of these tours? If your group is small, you may be sent along with another group that you don’t know. If you need to cancel at the last minute and didn’t buy insurance, you get very very little money back. The expenses on such tours are the main problem. However, most offer fundraising opportunities.

What are the good parts of these tours? You travel with your friends and teachers, you meet new people, you learn first-hand about a new country, you may learn a new language, you see the world, you go on an adventure, and much more. For many students, an educational tour is their first time abroad. The teacher has to make an effort to make the trip fun for the students and visa versa. There are many planned tours and usually optional excursions. However, the company always leaves you some free-time to shop or lie in the sand on a sunny beach. The tour companies are technologically up to date and will post pictures online each day of the tour at a tour center that is password protected. They have cell phones and pagers for emergencies. Tour guides try to make sure you sample local cuisine and culture.
