Ghost Hunting Conferences

Can a ghost enthusiast ever attend too many conferences? It's doubtful, considering that each conference offers its own unique blend of participants and ghostly activities. New techniques and knowledge are always emerging in this field, besides it's so much fun to meet others who are truly interested in the paranormal. Think of the fun and the friendships.

One of the first conferences that caught my eye this year is the southwestern Paranormal Ghost conference, which will be held in Yuma Arizona on April 13th and 14th. Going over their line up of activities and speakers, it looks like the conference will be a great one. In addition to a digital camera workshop, a picnic, and other activities the guest speaker will be Kriss Stevens, who is the paranormal consultant for MTV's Fear. Stevens conducts investigations and keeps busy by also being the paranormal investigator for the New Orleans Haunted History Tours. Another speaker will give a talk on some very strange goings on aboard the USS Hornet. For itinerary and other information, see their site..

One of the first ghost conferences I attended was that of the IGHS in Virginia City Nevada. Besides learning about digital camera techniques, I met some great ghost hunting buddies. Time flies. IGHS holds their fifth annual Gettysburg conference in May. Participants say this conference is worth attending more than once. The battlefields, the ghostly soldiers, the workshops, the fun! History and ghosts, what more can you ask for? Dave and Sharon are highly respected in the field of ghost research. And with good reason. They are a no nonsense pair who really know their stuff. No frou-frou here, just straightforward scientific ghost investigations. This year's conference focuses on Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). For more information see see the website.

Troy Taylor is a top writer of ghostly facts and lore. He is also the founder of American Ghost Society. The AGS's sixth annual conference is scheduled for June 21st through the 22nd and will be held in Alton Illinois. This year I have the honor of being one of the speakers at the conference. For more information see Troy's site

With so much interest in ghostly goings on, there are probably lots more conferences being scheduled out there. These are some of the first I've found. If you or your group has a conference scheduled please let me know and I'll post the information here.
