Haunts on the Road

If you enjoy spending your leisure time in ghostly places, you're not alone. There are any number of haunted, hotels, restaurants and other spots for you to indulge your ghost hunting activities.

The Lone Star State of Texas has many interesting historical buildings and spots to see. The Alamo is one such place. The International Ghost Hunters Society is planning its second annual San Antonio ghost work shop on September 16,2000 and it sounds like it will be a great time. For more information check out their site San Antonio Ghost Workshop California is a state filled with history, culture, places of interest, natural beauty, and oh yes, ghosts. If you're in the San Jose area do stop in at the Winchester Mansion. Please give my regards to Mrs. Sarah Winchester. A few miles from the mansion is the haunted Toys R Us store. What better place for a ghost to haunt than a toy store? Lake Tahoe is certainly one of the world's most beautiful lakes. The surrounding area is believed to be haunted by many ghostly spirits, including Marilyn Monroe.

If you happen to be in northern California stop by the little town of Downieville. Besides the haunted Jersey Bridge, It's said that at least one of the town's hotels is haunted.

After you've packed up and gotten on the road, you can relax a bit. Obey all speed limits and remember that there have been cases of ghostly hitchhikers popping in and out of passing cars, just for the thrill of it.

The Pacheco Pass on California's Highway 152 has been known for years for its supernatural activities.

Grab a bite to eat at any fast food restaurant along the road. Many of them are haunted. At the Banta Inn in Tracy California, it's rumored that the previous owner still hangs around his old stomping grounds long after death has claimed him.

In Virginia City, Nevada the Silver Queen Hotel welcomes you. Comfortable rooms, a casino, a bar a congenial atmosphere and a ghost or two. The Gold Hill hotel also has a couple of resident ghosts.

Perhaps you prefer the bright lights of Las Vegas. Apparently several ghosts, including Elvis feel the same way. So, has Elvis left the building or not?

History buffs take note. Even though it's been over 200 years since the revolutionary war and still the lonely ghost of General Anthony Wayne rides his steed near the Brandywine Battlefield. However, the general is a busy ghost. He's also been spotted at Fort Ticonderoga in New York. Obviously, the General enjoys traveling.
