A few weeks ago I was in Virginia City with a couple of friends. We stopped in at one of the local saloons and happened upon a resident who wanted to tell us all about her ghost. Ghosts are as common as candy bars in this neck of the woods, so her stories were nothing out of the ordinary. We listened as she described a ghost that continually opened and closed a spare bedroom door. This wasn't too much of a problem, but
"Now what do you make of that?" She asked. Before anyone could answer an elderly gent who had obviously eavesdropped on the conversation said, "Yes, It sounds like you've got a ghost alright. But can you prove it?" Unfortunately, that's something none of us can do....We may have cameras, recorders, meters, and all other manner of gear and gadgets for detecting paranormal phenomena, particularly ghosts, but we are hard pressed to prove it! Anyone who doubts this might want to try the following experiment. Gather up all your best evidence. You know the photo that shows those three mysterious orbs hovering over your head, the shot of the mist in the cemetery, your electronic voice phenomena (evp) with the voice of your great aunt admonishing you to "think positive!". Next, invite two of your very best friends over for dinner one evening. Easy enough you say. But the experiment gets harder. These friends must be hardcore skeptics, the kind that think you're extremely quirky to even talk about ghosts. After dinner announce that you have the evidence and will now proceed to prove the existence of ghosts to everyone's satisfaction. Here's where things get tricky. Some friends may claim an early appointment and duck out on you before you've even opened up the paranormal photo album. Others might laugh nervously and beg off with indigestion. What did you prepare for dinner? Then there are the friends who love you no matter what. These friends will stay the course. They're with you all the way. Bring on your evidence. And so you do! And with each photo, you explain in great detail how and when it was taken. Same goes for your evp and your video tapes. It's a proud moment. You've presented your very best evidence. This is stuff that other experienced ghost investigators have given their seal of approval to, some of the photos might even appear on the more famous websites. Go To Page: 1 2
