Seven Hills Winery: Pioneering Spirit With a Northwest Perspectivethe 1998 Klipsun Vineyard Merlot with three-and-a-half-stars. In tasting Seven Hill's wines, I found McClellan's descriptions to be accurate of all his red wines: the fruit is plumy with plenty of cassis flavor in the Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines are rich and intense. I don't think you could go wrong with any of Seven Hill's red wines. They certain stand up to many California Cabernets and Merlots at less than half the price. I found the 1998 Syrah to be one of my favorites. This wine supports an exceptional depth and length of flavor. It's just plain yummy! In addition, these wines are age-worthy. I would recommend purchasing enough to drink now, but save a few bottles for cellaring. Seven Hills Winery has tasting hours from Thursday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
