Germans and the Environment, II

I was beginning to see that Europeans and North Americans thought quite differently on environmental issues, at least when it came to determining what was acceptable behavior and what was not. Having founded an environmental club during high school, I could understand the Germans' concerns, but as an American who is used to eating oranges anytime of the year, and using ice cubes to make her drinks cold, it seemed a bit extreme to me. Living in another country certainly forces you to question your own values and preconceptions and examine yourself accordingly. I highly recommend the experience on that note alone.
