Army aviation provides the wings and rotors for units that provide supplies by tactical airlift. Rail companies are able to provide the organization to operate train service in foreign countries, using the infrastructure that is currently in place or by coordinating the construction of such an infrastructure with the Corps of Engineers. And, of course, there are the truck companies, operating everything from 2 ½ tons on up, who provide the bulk of the tactical resupply for the grunts in the field.
Without supply, and the transportation to get it to the fighting front; no force can remain in the field for long. For further info check: http://unixstew.tstc.edu/~1sgd6508/ http://www.af.mil/news/factsheets/Civil_... or http://www.msc.navy.mil/
