Want a nice way to spruce up that blank wall over the bed? Or need to find a way to make that mudroom more presentable? Wreaths aren't just for Christmas anymore! Wreaths are very versatile and can dress up any room in a snap.

One of my favorite types of wreaths is a gardeners wreath. Take the blank wreath of your choice, such as natural willow or grapevine, and adorn it with a pair of gardeners gloves, some empty seed packets, a tiny little butterfly, a little tin watering can and perhaps a mushroom bird or two. A gingham or airy tulle ribbon look especially nice on this wreath. It can be put on the porch or in the shed, or any area which is in constant view of your favorite gardener.

In a recent search of the internet, I came across something called a "Friendship Wreath." It couldn't be simpler, with its primary ingredient being yarn. No knitting or crocheting. Just simply twist the yarn, add a bow, and Voila! A Friendship Wreath. Check it out at http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/projects...

How about a "Laundry Room Wreath," or a "Bear Wreath?" Check out these lovely inspirations at http://www.michaels.com/projects/pr20051... There are as many possibilities for wreaths as there are occasions and decors.

Got an ocean-lover, or a person in your life who lives near the sea shore? You really should take a look at the SeaShells and Flowers wreaths that Michaels has put together. You can find it at http://www.michaels.com/projects/pr20051... You can either pick up some shells and starfish at your local craft store, or get them yourself at the beach. Add some silks, greenery and the shells to a simple straw wreath, and you have a beautiful housewarming gift! Be sure your choice of glue is appropriate for the climate. Sometimes hot glue does not hold up under heat and humidity. I would suggest either some thick tacky glue or some heavy-duty "Goop" glue. They are more suitable for that type of climate.

Have an abundance of those cute little mini-pumpkins? Try creating your own variation of the Harvest Wreath, shown here: http://homearts.com/gh/family/1096puf1.h... This would either make a lovely wreath, or it could be a beautiful centerpiece at your Thanksgiving or Fall table. Another suggestion would be to add some acorns, sunflowers and some various miniature gourds, as well.

Do you run a daycare center, or are you looking for a precious memento for Grandpa and Grandma? Use a wreath form of your choice-something as simple as a cardboard wreath shape or a natural willow wreath- and glue tracings of the children's hands to the form to make a cute reminder of how little they still truly are! Add some little wooden blocks, miniature fuzzy bears, tiny pacifiers, etcetera, and enjoy. You can find lots of these items in the dollhouse miniatures section of your craft store, or perhaps in the baby shower section. Lots of options!
