Crafting With Polymer ClayOne of the common uses of polymer clay is making jewelry and beads. A common type of bead-making is called millefiori, which entails making snakes of clay, encasing them in another color of clay, then slicing them to make several beads that are identical (or very nearly so). This is a very easy-to-understand site about millefiori . Another favorite project using this type of clay is making roses. They can be so beautiful and lifelike, and their construction is very clearly described here . Clay roses can be used on barrettes, pins, any type of jewelry, or can be used in little craft projects and dollhouse miniature creations. As I mentioned, this clay is extremely versatile, and I've not even scratched the surface here! For some clever ideas for projects, check out the Fat Pen Project . Also, a very intriguing site , shows pictures and how-to's on making nightlights using polymer clay! More projects can be found at: http://www.angelslanding.com/pushmolds/p... and http://www.myplanet.net/greganddoreen/. I highly encourage you to run to your local craft store and toss a couple of those innocent looking blocks of clay into your cart! You will be totally amazed and thrilled at what you can create with them! Enjoy!
