This is a book review of Anticipation The Real Life Story of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace by Jonathan L. Bowen. If you enjoyed watching the Star Wars films, you would be interested in reading this book.
There were several interesting facts throughout the book. I am mentioning a few of them in this review. Selecting the Cast How they selected the casts for the trilogy was interesting. The book starts out by discussing the casts of the trilogy. The main focus was on the parts for Queen Amidala and Obi-Wan Kenobi. They were to play the parts for all three films. The film crew had to make sure that whoever played the part would commit to all three films. That showed the actors were committed to their jobs. Setting Up the Scenes You never know what's going to happen when you prepare the scenes for a movie. After the parts were selected, the filming began. The crew traveled to different areas of the world to film Star Wars IV. One place was in Tunisia on the North African Sahara Desert. They had the equipment set up, and a storm came that destroyed several props, costumes, etc. They had to start building everything again. The strange thing about this storm was what happened twenty years ago. Another storm came and destroyed the first filming of Star Wars. Another interesting fact was how George Lucas put together a film. He took the best parts of each shot and created the desired Star Wars film. The Phantom Menace The book was mainly about the first prequel episode, The Phantom Menace. The fans didn't like the title of the film that Lucasfilm gave the movie. However, Lucasfilm announced that The Phantom Menace was going to be the title of the movie no matter how fans felt. One unique aspect of this film was the quality. Lucasfilm wanted The Phantom Menace to play in quality theaters that had digital equipment. He wanted this film to be the best production. However, when The Phantom Menace finally opened, it played in more theaters than the Special Edition. It also had more media and fan attention than any other cinema production. The Phantom Menace was successful in North America and in other countries such as Japan, The United Kingdom, and Australia. You will enjoy reading this book about Star Wars and the different film productions. There is a lot of work in producing a film or even a series of films like Star Wars. Go To Page: 1
