This is a book review of The Univer-Soul Language Volume I. This is an anthology of poems by different authors. If you enjoy reading poems, you will like this collection.

The Univer-Soul Language Volume I

I enjoyed reading most of the poems. Poetry is normally not my preferred literature, but I did like this anthology. When I read poems, I find that the more I read them, the more I understand what the author is saying. That is the way it was with these poems. Some of them were a little more difficult to understand, but after reading them more than once, I understood them better.

Here are three poems that I liked in this anthology:

Release by Sharia Kharif

This poem was about the struggle the writer had with his memories. He wanted to think about the memories of his past, but his mind refused to let him dwell on his past. Some of his memories were hidden in his secret place. They were memories that he had forgotten about, and then he wanted to think about them again.

I liked this poem because I have recently experienced a release of my memories that were burdens I had been storing in my mind. I didn't want to let them go, but when I released my memories and let God deal with them, I had a freedom that I hadn't experienced in a long time.

Released by Heather Smith

In this poem, the author was standing outside the fence. She felt imprisoned for the mistakes she made as a child. She talked about her new freedom. She wanted to start her new life, but she felt like her hope was evaporating. Her dreams were what remained in her life.

I liked this poem, as well. This writer felt imprisoned and when she was on the outside of the fence, she felt like she had a new freedom. This is similar to the previous poem. Both writers wanted a release. They were imprisoned and wanted to be released so they can experience a new freedom.

Locked Down by Cedric Mixon

This author wrote about being in prison. He mentioned how he loved God, but the devil had him in prison. He told about how he felt it was colder on the inside than it was when it was freezing outside. His thoughts were what helped him pass the time in prison. He felt free by his thoughts.

This is another poem where the author needed a release. His thoughts were his freedom.
