This is a book review of The Last Tear, which is the fifth book in the series titled W.I.T.C.H. adapted by Elizabeth Lenhard. It was as interesting and intriguing as the first four books.
The Last Tear started out by reviewing what had happened with the Guardians of the Veil. They were Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin. They were to fight a battle against Metamoor and save the world from the evil creatures. Will was the leader of the Guardians. She was the keeper of the Heart of Candracar, which was a crystal orb that popped out of her hand when she needed it. All of the girls had magical powers that they use to fight against the evil creatures. They also had astros, which were their magical look-a-likes. Their magical beings were used to replace them at school and at their homes in order for them to fight their battles against the creatures from Metamoor. In the last book, Irma's astro set up a date with a boy whom Irma didn't like at all. This book started with Irma's date with Martin. Irma wasn't happy about being forced to go with him, but she did. They went to the Heatherfield Museum to look at the pre-historic animals and other things. While they were there, a security guard woman became hysterical. She rushed to another security guard for help. Irma wanted to see what was happening. Irma and Martin went over to the area. Irma saw a live creature (a lizard) from Metamoor. Martin freaked out and dashed out of the museum. Irma stayed to fight off the creature. When the security guards arrived, they didn't see the creature. They don't understand what happened and where the creature disappeared. The one security guard, Miss Stevens, still believed that she saw the creature. Later on, Irma told the other girls what had happened in the museum. They decided that they needed to find out why one of the creatures was in the museum. They got out the map that shows the portals. They discovered that one of the portals was in the Heatherfield Museum. When they were at school, they were in the hall. They became startled when they saw Mrs. Knickerbocker, the principal. She wanted to see what they were discussing. Hay Lin tried to put the map in her backpack, but she couldn't get the zipper to work. Then, she put it behind her back. Mrs. Knickerbocker insisted on seeing the paper. Hay Lin used her magical powers and changed the map into a drawing of their principal. Mrs. Knickerbocker wanted to keep the picture, but Hay Lin told her they would draw a better picture of her that she could keep. The principal was satisfied. After she left, the drawing changed into the map. Go To Page: 1 2
