The The U.S. Biographies Project provides you an opportunity to do just that. It is still at a beginning stage, but I predict that it will grow quickly.
It was modeled after the Kentucky Biographies. This is a good place to start. A biographical entry does not have to be elaborate. On the Kentucky page, click on the Living Biographies Project to see an example.
Back to the The U.S. Biographies Project, you will notice that the different states are in various stages of development. Some still need to be adopted. Check out some of the states, I found them interesting. They each vary slightly in the way that they present their project.
As this project expands, it will be a great place to do more research in your ancestor's state. Reading others' biographies will help you understand about the life your ancestors lived. And, you might just one day find a lost cousin sharing information on a common ancestor.
Sharing the story of your ancestor, will help others to understand how their forbearers became part of a growing America. So, if you can, it is a wonderful way for you to add to the wealth of genealogy and history information on the Internet.
