Obituaries are a goldmine source for genealogists. Not only can they provide death dates and location, but they identify other family members and help find the elusive female relatives' married names.

Bill Cribbs, Obituary Links Page, has provided the most comprehensive obituary look-up page I have seen on the web at http://www.geocities.com/cribbswh/obit/ and its mirror site at http://www.cribbs.net/obit/. It is a site will worth checking out.

His 'Links to other obituary sources!' provide general obit sites. They include some large, familiar links, as well as some unusual ones.

Many personal home pages also include obituaries. You will find these on his 'Family Surnames Obituary Archives Page'. They are listed by letter, then surname. Be sure to add your webpage if it has obits.

Next, is 'Obituary Lookup Webpage', which links to the RootsWeb Obituary Lookup Volunteers. There is a lot of helpful information from this source.

Then, Bill's 'Search for Ancestors' link has numerous surname search engines. Great page!

For more links, go to his list of state obituaries. These will link you to state and county obituaries, as well as other state databases.

He provides a birthday calculator that helps you find a person's age in days, months and years when you have a birth and death date.

Two other helpful links he provides are Geographic Names Information System and the Harden Political Infosystem. Be sure to check out these links. They are two sites that I am going to add to my list of helpful tools.

And, his page is easy to navigate. Thank you, Bill!
