The Lewisias are enjoying the cool dull weather and have put on the best show for years. Even the hybrid seedlings that I potted on a few weeks ago are showing flower buds and they usually don't flower until the second year.
The young blackbirds are doing a good job with the slugs and seem to have adopted my garden as their home. One of them has developed a bad habit of roosting in the alpine house and occasionally knocks over some pots, but I suppose I can live with that considering the other benefits they provide. The bird bath has to be filled last thing at night for them to take an early morning bath, as they always seem to splash all the water out in the process. Good gardening until next time.
