ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFULPollinating still takes up a considerable amount of my time with Lewisia Rediviva and Lewisia Longipetala the two that now need attention. This requires an early rise in the morning to remove the pollen before the bees get to it, not the there is very many bees around now, but I still can't take any chances. Later in the day when the styles are ready I have to daub on some pollen from the plant I want to cross it with, keeping a note of the variety and colour. The first rain for four weeks has just started so I will not have any watering to do for a few days, as the forecast that there is going to be a considerable amount, I can't say I am sorry to see it! Good gardening until next time. MICHAEL J CAMPBELL
