Some B.C. tree farmers are trying to hang in there by moving to choose and cut operations. That way, they cut only the trees that consumers choose. For potential tree buyers, the bonus is a memorable family experience that will be a warm Christmas memory.
But your warm Christmas memory will be even warmer if you go out of your way to buy a Canadian tree. If you can't find a retailer who sells them, or get out to a tree farm personally, at least let the retailer where you buy your tree know that you would prefer to buy Canadian. Our tree farmers need our support.
