Out with the old and in with the new!

June 22, 2001 will be the date of the annihilation of a legend, and the birth of a new one. Game Boy Color has been a good friend to us in the past three years, coming out with some really crappy titles, yet they were counter balanced by some really spectacular ones. But I feel that it is time for it to go, and let the next generation of handheld gaming step right in.

Game Boy Advance will be revolutionary. When Game boy Color first debuted in 1998, it had no significant improvements over the previous Game Boy software or hardware, except for the fact that it was all now in colour. However, in the case of Game Boy Advance, it will not only be released with better colour, graphics, resolution and screen size, but it has the capacity of 3 times the gaming experience than any other handheld system. Now we'll all be introduced to 3D software, smooth gaming engines and many other improved traits. Basically, Game Boy Advance is a lot more compared to Game Boy Color, than Game Boy Color was to it's predecessors, Game Boy and Game Boy Pocket. So we can all expect to be completely wowed at its site when it appears on the shelves, and even more impressed when we're playing its' promising games. For now, take one last look at your game Boy Color, and play the hec out of it. Because you know how it will be sitting in your closet, unless you sell it, for a very long period. Although your regular Game Boy/Color games will be playable on your brand new GBA, don't expect them to get the amount of attention as your other, highly advanced GBA games.

So concluding, check out any new info about Game Boy Color, reviews, previews and screen shots, and don't be dazzled by the Game Boy Advance news that's all over the place because you'll be seeing plenty of it, and before you know it, you would've wished to bid farewell to GBC. It was a good system that made a lot of records, so I, as you should, am going to enjoy it as much as possible the next two months.
