Metal Gear Solid

Game Description:Metal Gear Solid has been around for a while, it is simply a legacy which prevailed on the old Nintendo system. But Metal Gear Solid on Game Boy Color is a surprising game, since it wasn't ported down from a bigger system, as so many other titles have, for example from Playstation. So MGS (Metal Gear Solid) on Game Boy is it's own legacy, and in my opinion one of the greatest, possibly the best, handheld video game to ever have been released, so read on. Back to the game. MGS pretty much revolves around Metal Gear, which is a machine capable of nuclear power, which is juggled between good and evil forces. Both of the sides want to get their hands on it, one to keep it out of the hands of the villains, and the other wish to use Metal Gear for world domination. So every time Metal Gear falls in the hands of the villains, the good guys send one man to stop them, Solid Snake, the legend. Now, it's your turn to guide Snake to the destruction of Metal Gear and finally save the world.

Gameplay Value:MGS is an espionage game which will require you to sneak around trying to use minimal violence. But there is a library of weapons which you can pick up along the way, just in case you need them. But if the enemy hears you walk by them or fire a non-silenced weapon, you better run. Otherwise, you'll have to distract the enemy (i.e. tapping on the wall) to reach your goals and solve numerous puzzles. MGS on Game Boy Color combines amazing espionage with action and strategy, with a story line that will make you sweat. As you go through each level, you will be obliged to perform numerous tasks like blowing up a section of the building or locating your commanding officer. The Black Chamber, which is a group of 4 villains, will do anything to stop you from destroying Metal Gear, and you will encounter one of them every couple of levels. The game is extremely entertaining and challenging. If you get seen by he enemy, the alarm will go off and you will find yourself running away from four or five guards. Killing them wouldn't be an option, since the time counter of the alarm will restart from the beginning, so you really wouldn't want to be seen by one of these guys. The only successful way you can get rid of an enemy is to shoot him with a silenced gun from the back, or punch the baddie to render him unconscious for a few seconds.
